Domherrenhof in Essenheim

Catastrophic. Quite rightly closed and no loss for Essenheim. One can only hope that the next tenant understands more about his craft. The last one is not even suitable for a french fry, let alone for a traditional restaurant.

There was no one, because despite the call on the day before the arrival and the promise, from 12 o'clock to be able to relate the rooms, no one was there. Something closed on the day of arrival, nobody answered the phone. After a few more attempts the lady of the day before was back, who said in her foreign dialect at the first conversation what "key Booking" and hangs up. at the second call you had no reservation, the third phone a water pipe break, the fourth phone call no room at the last phone told them that the boss would be in Romania and someone only had the number converted to them .. EACH phone was through hang up finished in the middle. Then nobody went to it anymore. The rooms were booked well in advance as 3 families were invited to the wedding. Arrival at 12 o'clock in the hotel (did not go earlier), wedding at 12 o'clock in Mainz. But it all worked out because at short notice in the Hotel Lerchenberg we were helped out of necessity. The Dummherrenho is anything but commendable, it is unfriendly, outrageous and it is an impossibility of how the guests are lied to and treated.

Average home cooking with a lot of finished products. In the end, there are home-brewed on the house - as much as you want. You also need it because the toilets are subject to critical hygienic conditions. Probably the friendly wife of the tenant is not only the only service, but also responsible for the sanitary area - and thus obviously overwhelmed. The yawning emptiness in this restaurant on a Saturday night (!) Is unfortunately a warning.

If you could distribute minus stars, then I would do it here. We were eating there on Saturday with 6 people. Reserved a table and wondered why we were the only guests on a Saturday evening. It was too cold in the restaurant for the time of year. But that wasn't the problem. The lady was already overwhelmed with the intake of the food. What was ordered wasn't on the plate, and the food was cold. I had ordered pork medallions in a cream sauce with fries and salad. Not a fancy dish. The cream sauce consisted of an instant cream sauce, which received a spoon of "sour cream". Instead of fries there were rösties, which were cold. Likewise the meat .... The meat was lukewarm, as was the sauce, which had already pulled a skin. All in all, the food was presented very unsavory. After asking that I would like the food as on the menu, I received the plate again. This time there was french fries, but without salt and hard as stone. The meat was now totally cold. For this, the sauce was warmed up in the microwave. This was not edible at a price of just under € 18.00. The price / performance ratio is in no way right here. A fake cheap AZUR water is sold for 5.50 €. The purchase price is € 0.26. Had it been Marken Wasser, HASSIA, Gerolsteiner, San Pelegrino etc. then the price would have been justified. As compensation, we were offered homemade schnapps from Jack Daniel's bottles. That is not how it works. The restaurant looks very nice from the outside and makes an appealing impression. It was clean, but the food is in no way recommendable. Baked dishes were burnt. Here the cook and the waitress still have to work hard on themselves. The prices are also totally excessive. The food was at canteen level!

I was at Domherrenhof twice in the winter this year. I did not eat anything but my wife ordered beef. Originally I was scared because it was very blood (again, Italian style) and I expected my wife to do ugly, but she liked it a lot.

A little far from the city but well situated , nice staff providing good services, good food. Fish is a food that I can never deny. I had a traditional Romanian dish over an old recipe that had a unique flavor. White zonal wine was wonderful. At the desert I served a traditional dessert - some donuts with cheese called Papanasi - a feast.

Great location and food!

- Ciorbele - I can say that they are out of the classic Romanian style and have something special. I could not deduce what made them special (probably jam from cabbage or even pickles or a fine borscht, I have no idea ...) but I am incredibly good. Add sour cream + 2-3 sweet peppers and it's a guaranteed success :)

The hospitality was pleasant and warm. The traditional Romanian food is beyond expectations and of course the whole atmosphere has a special authenticity of the area. You can order traditional romanian food as well as traditional german food. The highlight of the evening was the well-known Romanian traditional "Papanaș". I recommend this restaurant with pleasure!

The food was very good. Nice location. Coming soon on Sunday branches. Give the new owner the chance to become something special.

The food was very good, if insufficiently labeled. Unfortunately, the milk was sour, but the problem was resolved. The service was mixed. Drinks were forgotten and then given out wrong.

Definitely try the brunch. You have to reserve here in advance to get a seat, but the food and selection leaves nothing to be desired. We recommend.

I can only say something about the restaurant. It is nicely furnished, but unfortunately I was not impressed by the food. Somehow carelessly arranged and not particularly flavorful.

Food and service are very good. We came with the Schlemmerblock and were certainly not the last time there.

The Domherrenhof is a rather rustic restaurant in a historic building. Rustic does not mean stale here. On the contrary: the kitchen is a mixture of home-style and contemporary. As an example, here is the dish called "Pulled Pork vom Wildschwein". The food is extremely tasty and stylish. The service is very courteous and friendly. All in all a clear recommendation!

As part of a family visit in the evening spontaneously returned to this beautiful restaurant. Very nice atmosphere and very well-kept overall impression. Very well structured map and exceptionally good food and drinks. Very polite and courteous staff. We ate here very well and spent a nice evening. Unfortunately, we are rarely in the area to visit this beautiful place regularly. But we like to come back.

This is a Gasthaus with restaurant in Essenheim. Very good food and excellent service. The place is quiet and calm. A free parking space is available nearby
